2024 CGD MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND SOLO FESTIVAL
92 band students from the CGD 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade Band participated in the 2022 MS Solo Festival. Additionally, 15 band students from the CGD 5th Grade Band performed a Solo as well.
The Solo Festival was held on March 5 at the Middle School. The students prepared a solo during lessons beginning in January to prepare for the event. On the day of the Festival, the judges gave the soloists written and verbal feedback on their performances, as well as some tips on playing their instruments.
Judges for the event were Ryan Ringnalda, Tara Smith, Danielle Border, and Dave Swaroff.
The students earned 64 Blue Ribbons, signifying a “Superior Performance”, and 23 Red Ribbons meaning an “Excellent Performance”.
Additionally, 9 of the students received special recognition from the judges for being the “Outstanding Soloist” in their instrument family and in their grade level.
